Ruby
Thompson, Consultant
Ruby is currently a consultant with Three
Feathers Associates, and provides training and technical assistance with
American Indian and Alaska Native programs throughout the nation. She
earned her Masters in Social Work (M.S.W.) degree from the University of
Oklahoma, with a concentration in social planning and community
organization. Her work experience has been in the areas of program
development, implementation, evaluation and policy development. She has
served as a consultant for the American Indian Head Start Quality
Improvement Center, BHMQIC, and Texas Tech HSQIC in the areas of Family
and Community Partnerships and Program Design and Management.
Ruby has served as a
grant reviewer for the Administration on Children, Youth and Families on
Early Head Start and Head Start grants for the past several years. She
holds membership in several professional associations such as the National
Association of Social Work (Oklahoma Chapter), Oklahoma Family Resource
Center Association, National Head Start Association, Early Childhood
Association of Oklahoma and is a former board member of the Oklahoma
Advisory Council for Early Childhood Professional Development and Oklahoma
Infant Mental Health Association.
Ruby also has a background in the mental
health field. She has provided intensive home-based services to families
to prevent out of home placement of identified youth in a family
preservation program. She has provided services in the areas of:
positive parenting, play therapy, crisis management; education regarding
child and adolescent development; AIDS education; skills training; problem
solving; stress management; community resource linkage; advocacy with
schools, courts and other social service agencies on behalf of families;
domestic violence, and substance abuse counseling.

expertise in: community assessment process, self-assessment process,
preparing for Federal On-Site Reviews and grant application development.
